Well, Since You Asked...
I am 5'8", with red hair, blue-green eyes. I like the outdoors, travel, music, movies, the arts, reading, the internet, and... Oh, it's not *that* "kind of "about me" page, is it... ; P In all seriousness, (well, maybe not *ALL* seriousness, because I'm NEVER that serious...) I have been an EBAY user since October 1999. When I started, it was mainly to fulfill the void I had to purchase items odd and wonderful, but otherwise impossible to find without driving to every garage sale from here to Dallas - and who wants to wake up at 5 AM just to drive around, touching stranger's stuff, just to potentially locate a village's missing idiot? In 1998 B.E. (before ebay) wanting something that wasn't readily available in my neck of the woods would have involved time off work, a plane ride, dark glasses, plenty of money for bail, and a good lawyer to fight the various stalking and theft charges...but then I found this wonderful e-trader village and my life has been much easier. So that's how I fell into this rabbit hole they call eBay (and why is called eBay, exactly? Does anyone know what the acronym is for? Is it pig Latin? Is this one of those knawing, unanswerable questions I will go to my grave wondering about?) OK, moving on... The "buying thing" on eBay was very satisfying for a number of years, until I realized my proclivity towards surfing ebay when I was bored, tired, or broke...you don't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, right? Well, don't log onto eBay with an empty wallet, because you will ALWAYS find your heart's desire when you have the least amount of funds available to spend on it...) because of this minor detail, I decided that I should start selling my stuff as a trade off, if you will; selling the stuff I didn't want or need, so I could buy the stuff that *other people* didn't want or need. ONce I became a seller, I really started focusing on my feedback - I am a big believer in feedback! It's a checks and balances system; if I do a good job, let everyone know - how else does one build a reputation, good or bad, on eBay? My mantra on eBay is to treat the way I would want to be treated. I do my best to be polite, fair, objective and timely in both my payments and my shipments. I list all charges and pertinant information in my auctions up front, so you won't have my sympathy if you bid without reading the details. Shipping fees and payment methods are CLEARLY stated. Your bid is your contract; don't sign anything without reading it first! (There's some of that unsolicited advice) ; ) Thank you for taking an interest in me, have a wonderful day! |
