Things We Make/Build

Let me introduce the two of us to you.  We are Bill and Brenda.   

• Bill has been doing construction and building furniture for the past 54+ years.  I am a disabled American Veteran and I served my four years at Castle AFB, California.  
• I have been a city clerk, court clerk, and a reserve police officer.  I have worked for an attorney. 
• I have worked in accounting and I have been sewing since I was in high school back in the late 60's and early 70's. 
• I have been making things for children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren. 
• Our family is sort of small because there are only 10 children,  30 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren so far.   Our family is spread out between Florida, Indiana, Arkansas, Missouri, and Utah.  So visiting spots are not something we have to look for when we want to see this great country. 
• Bill's favorite food is chinese. 
• My favorite is good Mexican.  My favorite restaurant was Chi-Chis before it closed.
• We both lost our spouses to death and we have found each other and been married almost 4 years.

• We decided to create a one room store (not schoolhouse-ha, ha).  When we were kids the stores that we went to had a little bit of everything in it. 
• That's what we are trying  to create here at Allens Emporium Home Pro Remodeling, 26 E. Washington Street, Marionville, Missouri, USA. 
• We opened for a short while in 2006, but then we went to help where Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. 
• We were gone for 11 months and now we have re-opened. 
• Our store building was built in 1850 and was one of the first buildings here in Marionville. 
• Our store consists of one room in the front of our store building and we live in the back.  So it is not far for me to go to work. 
• We always have it packed to the gills so just hop right on in.  Inventory varies from week to week.   
• We try very hard to keep our costs down for our customers. 
• We have fun in doing what we do--so we thought on the side I could just open a store and go to craft shows so you just don't know where you might find us.   
• If you come from a long distance just call we are usually open Mon-Thurs. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. unless we have  an appointment (doc).  We will be open during AppleFest which is the last weekend in Sept. 
• We sell new and used items and also everything from a package of nails to sodas/candy bars to bowling balls.  We have lots of beautiful fleece and we also have lots of beautiful decorated pillows. 
• We try to make things where they will last for my customers.  (We are probably all on some kind of budget.-- I know I am) and the longer they last the less time and money I have to spend on replacing them.   
• We do some special order items for customers.
