I am Allyson Porter Daley, a mixed-media artist from Flagstaff, Arizona. I began my adventure into art in 1989 creating 2 dimensional works in pastels and acrylics. Eight years later, I was introduced to rubber stamp art. I was so excited about this new medium that I let my canvases and paints sit neglected for 5 years.
My joy of stamping led me to explore many other types of paper art that led to the opening of Allyson’s Art of Paper, a hands-on paper arts studio where I taught others the various techniques of creating with paper. Allyson’s Art of Paper also became a local source for imported handmade papers, which evolved into a sideline creating custom designed invitations and gifts.
I have moved my retail business online allowing me to concentrate more on creating. I now enjoy creating altered art, art journals, art quilts, hand-bound books and beaded jewelry to name just a few things. I continue to design invitations and gifts for special occasions. I am also available to teach both creative machine art and paper arts classes. All things have come together to create this new collage which I call simply, “Allyson’s Art.”
I have been happily married to my husband, Art (the original Allyson’s Art) for 31 years. We have 3 children ranging in ages from 30 to 23, one grandson and two granddaughters. When I’m not creating, I enjoy reading, gardening, needlework, old movies, cooking, hiking… there just aren’t enough days in the week!
