Alpine Base & Edge started operations in November of 2005. The shop began as a specialty ski and snowboard tuning center where customers can get a professional, custom tune, purchase quality ski tuning equipment and waxes, and receive advice about tuning techniques as well as learn how to maintain their own equipment. I am the owner, Peter Boyer, and started tuning skis while attending Stratton Mountain School in Vermont in 1975. Sharp edges and fast bases were a must on the hard pack conditions found at eastern ski areas, so all the students at the school had to master ski tuning by hand. My passion for tuning was at first a necessary component of my competitive skiing, grew into an obsession, and has now morphed into a business. My suspicion that a specialty tuning center would be a great idea was confirmed when one of my first customers said, "Wow, I've been waiting for a shop like this to open. I'm so glad I can finally get my skis tuned by someone who knows what they're doing!" Yes, I manage all the tuning that is done in the shop and I have 5 tuners who work with me, all of whom are currently competing or have competed in ski racing and freestyle skiing.

As the tuning reputation of the shop grew, especially in regards to race tunes, I began to get many requests for ski racing equipment. I approached Atomic Skis in 2006 and they decided open my shop as an Atomic Ski Dealer and Pro Shop. I carry the full line of F.I.S.World Cup skis, boots, bindings and accessories, as well as the expert carving and all mountain skis from the "upper end" of the Atomic line. I don't carry what I call "recreational skis and equipment" as this market is saturated in Colorado. If you're looking for the best that Atomic has to offer, I probably carry it. I added some race accessories (goggles, gloves, helmets, pole guards) from Scott USA, and a nice selection of telemark and AT skis from Atomic to round out the selection. Of course ski tuning tools are available at the shop and some of the brands I feature include Toko, Sun Valley Ski Tools, Spiracut, and Wintersteiger. A new line of ski hat I have added is ID One from Japan. I carry their competion mogul and technical ride (carving skis). ID One is a very high quality line made from the finest materials with the best finish I've seen in a ski product in years.
I offer the lowest "Buy It Now" price I can in my E-bay store as well as the "Best Offer" feature. If you'd like to make an offer an any of my listings, please feel free. If you make a ridiculously low offer, I'll decline it right away. If you make a reasonable offer, I'll consider it. Please don't make extreme "lowball" offers as I will not respond to them. If you find that my price is too high on a particular item, just don't buy it. Keep watching items that you are interested in however because I do have sales every so often to reduce inventory. When I can pass on savings to my E-bay customers I do so buy listing items at a much reduced price. The items you see from Atomic, especially the World Cup Skis and Boots are unique and hard to find.
