WE'RE STILL DOING ANTIQUES!!!
For
the time being, however, our eBay efforts will be
concentrated on the
science fiction items discussed at right. Meanwhile, Linda and I are still
discovering treasures in and about southern Oregon (She's
doing all the pretty stuff; I've mostly been delving for
books...)
Aaaaaaaaaaaand,
we're
also stockpiling!
Largely in preparation for the big
Antique Street Faire held in Grants Pass on the third
Sunday in May, but also so as to get far enough ahead
that we can organize future listings around themes,
which make things easier on the shopper, especially in
regards to combined shipping, you know what I
mean? A lot of folks offer combined shipping, but
only if you order an absurd combination of items that
looks like a sorority initiation scavenger hunt
checklist! Wouldn't it be nice to have someone
dealing in ALL whatever it is you're looking
for?
HA!
IF you're looking for unique, 1- of-a-kind science
fiction collectibles, then you've come to the right
place!!! If you're looking for anything else,
well, check back, because we might be the right place tomorrow.
Like I said, we've been stockpiling, and we've got
STUFF!
Some
such themed collections we're working on revolve around
*Western/cowboys & indians/horses * Vintage glassware, EAPG
through the 1960s, especially blue colored! * Sterling
jewelry, esp. w/ turquoise, Indian & Mexican * Early
California potteries & Certain midwest potteries (i.e.
Red Wing, Hull) * Antique and vintage games,
especially unique chess sets * Vintage musical
instruments and accessories * Early to mid 60s Vinyl LPs
* Rock & Roll! *
So
check back often!

We
want YOU to be a satisfied customer!
It
is our policy to quickly and expeditiously grant an
unconditional refund for any purchase that fails to make
you happy. Unless
there is a problem with the way we described the item,
however, the buyer will pay all shipping and there will
be a 20% restocking charge deducted from the refunded
total.

If you really dig Science Fiction...
Hi
everybody, we're John & Linda, er, that is... I'm John.
Where'd Linda go? Okay, I think I get it. She must
be off in the far left sidebar, getting all of our really old,
rare and vintage stuff ready for Grants Pass'
Amazing May Antiques and Collectibles Street Faire (On the
streets of historic downtown ~ third Sunday in May! Do an
eBay ZIP CODE search for the Grants Pass area the following week
to see what you missed!)
As
for the here and now, it's getting pretty deep in the attic, so
maybe she'll even polish up a treasure or three for me to list
on this coming weeks auctions.
Anyhow,
this is supposed to be our "About Us" page, so dig
this: we live in paradise! Not only that, but way out on the
edge of the forest, between the mountain and the river, a dozen
or so miles beyond the limits of the nearest city, if you want
to call it that. Grants Pass, Oregon.
Population? The steelhead outnumber us 1000 to 1!
Boondocks
or no, between
us we have close to half a century's experience in the
antiques and collectibles trade(s), usually offering a
confusingly broad range of the finest, top-shelf knick-knackerie
one could dare hope to imagine (check our feedback! It was all
real!)
If you've been
following our auctions recently, however, you
may have noticed things have been a bit different of late, and
I've got to tell you, "There's a story behind that!"
Actually
there are several hundreds of such stories, and most of them
were written by a former friend and neighbor of mine, Reginald
Bretnor, the world famous Science Fiction writer (1911-1992) who
used to come to MY garage sales when I lived in Medford! Through an odd stream of circumstances I have
come into possession of a sizable portion of Bretnor's
literary files, consisting of manuscripts, contracts, letters,
postcards, and other various ephemera from 1938* through 1992,
among which are hundreds of autographs from legendary authors in
both the sci-fi and mystery genres throughout the so-called
golden and silver age(s). Most of these signatures are at
the end of personal correspondences, often lengthy and comprised
both of personal pleasantries and literary dialogue,
composed on letterheads some of which alone could be worth the
start bid even if the sheets were blank! (G. C. Edmondson typed
letters on the backs of old manuscript pages, sometimes
making card envelopes with them as well!)
Anyhow,
I've been sorting and organizing this stuff, hoping to have it
all read and ready to pass on to the next eager sci-fi buff before the World
Science Fiction Convention, which is in Los Angeles this coming
labor day. Progress has been swifter than anticipated
so I've decided to start parting with this stuff
beginning right here and now, and what better venue for
presenting it to the global market than eBay?
