Who are we?

Amethyst Group, Inc.  (AGI - formerly known as Amethyst Group International), has been in business since 1998, and incorporated in May of 2008.   This family-owned business is based in Gahanna, Ohio.  AGI is an eCommerce business - specializing in Spiritual, Mystic, Pagan, Wiccan, Metaphysical and New Age books, jewelry, crystals, gems, home decor, herbs and collectibles. 

AGI is an eBay Power Seller and as such, we take great pride in our recognized and respected care and service to all customers.  With Amethyst Group our forte is Customer Care -  taking care of our buyers (and our vendors, too!) is our #1 concern. Our philosophy is that anyone can sell 'stuff' online or in person, but it's the care during and after the sale that creates an ongoing relationship.

The humans behind Amethyst Group, Inc are: Lisabeth (Tibbi); Gary (Anon);  James; and Juliann. The true rulers-of-the-roost are our rescue ex-racing Greyhounds (GiGi and Callie's Less Reason), our twins - Galgo Espanol (Spanish Greyhounds) from Scooby Medina near Madrid (Pilar Bella Cristina Melanie and Donn Pablo Max Guillermo - aka Maxie and Bella) ; Juliette our 18' clouded boa, James'  leopard gecko "Spot", our outside house bat "Brownie" who has been living on our porch now for 4 years (he's back as of 5/28/09!!!)  when he lives in Ohio, and a ever-changing assortment of 4-legged and 2-legged guests.

Lisabeth (Tibbi)  Ramsdell.   Her background includes over 28 years in the telecommunications industry, as corporate division trainer, and now as an associate representative for Stanley Steemer at the National Customer Service Center.

Lisabeth's passions include personally selecting all AGI merchandise, marketing and public relations and everything Greyhound!  In her off-time, she enjoys travelling to mine and personally select gems from across the globe: a few favorites of mention are quartz crystal and herkimer diamonds from Arkansas; Blue Pectolite known by the trade name "Larimar"  from the Island of Hispanola, Dominican Republic; Opals from Australia, and of course, Amethyst.

Lisabeth's metaphysical specialty is in gems and crystal healing. Her first book on crystal healing is in the first edit and is due for publication in late 2010. She also serves as a Costa Rica travel consultant, provides marketing consultation to several small business owners in Central America and the Caribbean. Additionally, she  is an advocate to rescue/retired Greyhounds and Galgos; and provides support to Greyhound Cancer Families through Azie's Angels. She has patent pendings for canine amputee support devices. Lisabeth and Gary are presently pursuing certifications as Certified Pet Care Technicians as a first-step toward their eventual goal of owning a Kennel, specializing in Greyhounds, Galgos and Lurchers.

Anon (Gary) Ramsdell.  Gary's background is as a teacher, Lakota Souix trained Shaman, published author (The Light: an Awakening) and philosopher in the realm of metaphysics, parapsychology and quantum physics - all nicely combined  with years spent in the corporate world as SR VP of marketing in many multi-national firms. Gary recently retired and closed his immensely popular Ohio retail metaphysical store and learning facility, Journeys of the Soul. Anon, as he is known to many, is still writing, teaching workshops, conducting corporate consulting and still finds time to hand-craft all Shaman Shack items - candles, simmering incense, bath salts and gift baskets. He is an avid master gardener and certified herbologist - growing shamanic, healing, eastern medicinal and kitchen herbs and a wide variety of orchids and bamboo.

Anon adores his greyhounds and Galgos, tolerates Brownie and gets 'the creeps" from Tibbi's babe, Juliette.

James R. Herlan. James assists in the creative aspects for AGI.  He is a Junior in college, majoring in Anthropology, and then striving for a graduate degree in Primatology.  James loves the hounds, is horrified we have a bat and a snake and had finally taken Spot to his apartment to live with his roommate and their American Staffordshire, Oscar.

Juliann R. Herlan. Juliann assists in packing, shipping and caring for the herbs for AGI. A Junior in High School, she is setting her sights on an undergraduate degree in forensic science and eventually her JD to practice Family Law.

Our beloved ex-Racer, Azrial (racing name - P's Drop Off) crossed the Rainbow Bridge at high noon, Valentine's Day, 2009 after a valiant battle with Osteosarcoma. While Azie has moved on, his inspiration lives on through Azie's Angels - his pawprint on this earth to bring knowledge and support to greyhounds and their families living with that monster, osteosarcoma. At Amethyst Group we strive to make sure our customers come first by offering 5 Star Customer Service, only the highest quality merchandise, unequalled communications and personal advice and consultations for special requests and needs.

We 'vet' everything we carry, making sure that it meets our quality standards. When we list items, we list with the highest integrity and give our buyers all the aspects they need to know to assure informed purchases.

Shipping and handling is always a concern to us. A challange of any on-line seller is trying to keep shipping costs low for the buyer and for the seller to not lose money - buyers, please note we not only have to address our overhead, cover the postage, the packaging, trips to the post office and time involved - that's why you see a shipping charge that is higher than the stamp charge on the envelope or the package. We often offer FREE SHIPPING and occasional sales.
