Thank you so much for visiting my About Me blog. My name is Kimberli and I'm a single mom of two wonderful sons, Joseph and Jordan.
A few years ago, I was an avid doll collector, mostly collecting dolls from the 1950's (Shirley Temple, Toni, Chatty Cathy), 1960's (Patti Play Pal, Thumbelina, Crissy) and my childhood favorites from the early 1970's (Dawn, Little Kiddle, Flatsy, Tiffany Taylor). I had an entire bedroom dedicated to the dolls I loved so much. I also restored most of these vinyl dolls to their original condition, a passion I loved so much. When my husband, Greg, passed away suddenly at age 40, with no life insurance in place, I had to sell my entire collection to pay the funeral expenses. This is when I discovered reborns. I happened upon a reborn doll auction when I was selling the last of my collection and thought... what a beautiful doll! I kept this reborn in mind for months until I was browsing Ebay again and came across the Reborn category. I just HAD to have one so I found an inexpensive one and bought it. When I got it she was very nice, but as an artist I thought I could create one myself. I was hooked. I thought how wonderful it would be if I could create reborns as a second income (going from a two-income family to a one-income family was very difficult) so I read everything I could on reborning techniques, purchased videos and DVD's and mostly STUDIED the work of the most wonderful and gifted reborners to get a grasp of how they did what they did. I started making reborns, first for the people at work, then as I gained more confidence, through Ebay. The rest is history. It's been over four years since I started reborning, and after well over 300 reborns sent all over the world, I feel so very blessed to be a part of this wonderful world of reborns, and to be able to help support my family by doing something I truly LOVE to do. How can life get any better than this? I count my blessings every day and never take anything for granted. Thank you to all the mommies who have adopted my babies now living in parts of the world I can only dream about.
