When I first joined eBay, I just used my email address for a user name. Then, one day, I found myself wanting to bid on an embarrassing item and I didn't want anyone to identify me as the buyer, (I confess, it was the sheet music for FEELINGS...), so I decided to pick a really generic sounding name. My first choice, "justaguy," was already taken, so I settled for "anotherguy."
ABOUT ME
I am a classical mandolin soloist, composer and historian, with a day job at the Liberry... er, uh... Library of Congress. I now live in Hyattsville, MD, but I decided to leave up the links for my former home,Takoma Park (a/k/a Tacky Park, a/k/a The Peoples Republic of Takoma Park, a/k/a The Berkeley of the East) which sits directly on the Northeast border of Washington, DC. It is populated by former hippies and 60's activists, Seventh Day Adventists, vegetarians, folk singers, lesbians, New Age practitioners, and one of the original Mouseketeers! I don't know what _I_ was doing there since I'm none of the above, but they're a pretty tolerant bunch! If you're looking to buy a sitar or get your aura polished, then Takoma Park is for you. If you're looking for a Big Mac, then forget it!
WHAT I SELL AND COLLECT
I am not really a dealer, but have a critical mass of cool stuff that I need to thin out before I have a meltdown. I plan to sell a LOT of records (78s, 45s, LPs), some books and music, various Art Deco artifacts, and some generally wacky stuff that I've enjoyed long enough.
I collect mandolin records (cylinders to CDs), sheet music and ephemera, but not the instruments themselves. My other interests are Art Deco in general (especially Deco images of women with mandolins), old popular sheet music, Manhattan glassware, and tap dance memorabilia.
