Welcome to my About Me page!  I am a self-taught artist and have loved sketching and coloring since age six!  I did my first oil painting at 12 and never stopped.  Eventually, I worked in watercolor and loved that too!  About 20 years ago I started working with acrylics on wood.  I have done hundreds of portraits in the three mediums but have also enjoyed working with fabric, sewing mine and my children's clothes, quilting, etc.  My favorite subjects for portraits are my family, in-laws, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.  I also love painting still lifes and landscapes.  I lived in California with my husband and children until the summer of 2004 when he retired and we two decided to get out of L.A., move north to the state of Oregon with the beautiful trees, rivers and skies.   I can now work full time at my art, and, after almost 55 years, am enjoying it more than ever!

I began stitching up ornaments of birds, cats and, depending on the season, pumpkins, santas, etc.  I discovered that muslin worked great, was readily available and inexpensive.  I sketch my designs, stitch, stuff and paint them using acrylics.  I never tire of this and get my inspiration from all the beauty around me.  I started selling them on eBay less than 2 years ago and very recently, less than 3 months, I began creating small paintings using the 2 1/2"x3 1/2" ACEO format.  These have been well-received and give me a nice variety of things to work on.  Ideas that don't come to fruition in fabric, are created on paper!  I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it!
