AMERICAN CIVIL WAR SURGICAL ANTIQUES

Collector-Researcher-Preserver of Pre-1865 Civil War surgical sets, surgical instruments, medical college lecture tickets, U.S.A Hosp. Dept. bottles, medical tins, and pre-1865 medical textbooks

As seen in the following publications: Military Images, American's Civil War Magazine, Warman's Civil War Collectibles, Antique Week, Northeast Antiques, and various Antiques & Collecting magazines

I maintain an extensive 904 page web site (American Civil War Surgical Antiques) with over 9,580 photos, which covers American maker surgical antiques from 1820 to 1870. There is a link to the site below.

On the web site are hundreds of articles about collecting and identification of American surgical antiques. I specialize in Civil War sets and instruments. There are over 60 American maker surgical sets on display from the 1820's to 1880's for comparison to known Civil War surgical sets. There is also a large Civil War related medical book collection on display as well as medical college lecture cards or tickets, and U.S. Army medicine containers and bottles.

You will find reference material on identification and valuation of pre-1865 sets. There is also information and articles on Civil War surgeons, swords, images, and photos on how various Civil War surgical instruments were used.

References are provided for dating of various instruments or sets as well as a list of books which can be used for indentification purposes.
