Hi, I'm apostlethirteen, and I have this store, Heart-of-Europe-is-Lithuania, on ebay.  To sum it all up, I sell things from Lithuania, and have lots of stuff, such as books dealing with Lithuanian language and history, and even some arts and crafts, usually traditional, at nice prices.  Sure, it's all from Lithuania, so there's some amber stuff, and even some collectible items like beer coasters, and stamps.  Sometimes I have some "eclectic" stuff to sell on one whim, or another.  These are things that I can find here in Lithuania for less than elsewhere, or that maybe I get for someone in Lithuania, and try to sell on ebay.  I sell all over the world, and have sold items on several international ebay sites, and I've shipped to over 15 countries.  I don't try to be "competitive", I always try to sell for less, and with HONEST postage.  I don't believe in the false god of "handling charges"  A good price, honest postage, and the best service I can give - that's my "gospel" that I'm preaching here on ebay!  If you see something from Lithuania, or you want something of this origin, just send a message - I can almost always get it for you for less!

Why "Heart of Europe"?  Well, a few years ago some official geographers from France looked and measured, and decided that the center of the european continent was indeed about 17 kilometers from Vilnius.  So...don't think of Lithuania as "eastern europe", but as central - not just geographically, but culturally and economically!

Lithuania may not have the vast resources of say,...well almost anywhere...but it does have language and culture.  Lithuanian is the oldest used Indo-European language. Older than any other European language.  Difficult to learn? Maybe.  I have some materials that could help, from dictionaries to grammars to anything,... if you ask.

Lithuania also has arts and crafts, from wood carving to ancient song.  Tradition is not dying in the last pagan country of Europe.  I've got some examples.

Just for the information: Lithuania was first mentioned in some obscure text from the year 1009, so Lithuania is almost 1000 years old.  How old is your country?  At one time the greatest empire in europe, now just a small Baltic country.  Lithuania at the height of its power was the first, and perhaps ideal muticultural country, its rule extending from the Baltic sea, all the way to the Black Sea, Ukrainia.

If your looking for "The Little Prince", "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupery, I have given him his own part in my store.  Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and Russian languages are the only ones here, for now.  I could be "all over the place" trying to sell Aramaic to Zulu, but I'm trying to stay focused to the languages they're speaking near me, Baltic and russian tounges.  Why the Little Prince?   I think there are some valid ideas, lessons, if you will, that are relevant to everyone.  Also, the relatively simple syntax of the prose lends itself to understanding and learning one of these languages.

Who me?  I'm just a guy of Lithuanian heritage who decided to leave (New) England and put down roots here, in Vilnius.  It's interesting, certainly a change from everything I knew. Yes, I have passed the state examination in Lithuanian language, so I've learned / studied a bit.

Like I mentioned way at the top, I try to give as low of a price as I can, and my shipping is the lowest possible.  The price is actual postage, plus the cost of packaging - usually an envelope and some cardboard.  I pack cheap, but I pack good, recycling when I can, and I believe that my feedback sums up my effort at quality.
