Whats it about

A little about me

 I do telecom installation and have done it since 1967. I have many interests, but my main one since 1984 has been computers. I started with an Apple II computer and still use Apple Macs. I have a BBS that has been up since 1987, that runs on an Apple II computer. If you don't know what a BBS is, well these are private and some public computers that are linked via modems to the outside world, that other computer users could call and post messages and e-mail, play games and download files, sounds like the Internet, well these were way before that. When the Net became popular, most boards went down for lack of use, their operators took them down since there was no reason to keep them going if no one called. I publish an Apple II BBS program called GBBS, it was written by a couple of high school students back in the early 80's. I started running a system later on and in time learned how to program and bought the rights, not to make money, but that would be nice, but to keep the program alive. And there are others out there. I'm sorry to say that the BBS came down in early 2003,one day I might bring it back online again when I have the time to run it again.

What I collect

 My main interests are 1984 Los Angeles Olympic pins, mostly Telecom pins and government or Olympic Organizing pins, but I'm always looking at other stuff from those games. I spent a lot of time working there.
