I actually started selling on eBay in January 2009 when I realized that I had to dispose of a lot of varied items and didn't just want to donate them or throw them away but rather try to find a home for them. These items that I am selling come from the following:
My Great Aunt--My great aunt passed away several years ago and at that time I did get rid of a lot, but I also boxed up a lot of items to go through at a later date. Well, the later date has arrived! Items include sterling silver and silverplate flatware pieces, silver dollars, china pieces, old photos, old souvenirs, costume jewelry (1940-50).
My Parents--Both my parents passed away during the last few years and I am just now going through boxes and trunks full of stuff!--some things I didn't even know existed. Items include jewelry, old photo postcards, WWII books, photos, & documents, other military items, silver dollars, foreign coins, signed figurines, books, sports programs & tickets, old newspapers, posters, and more that I have not gone through as yet. Some times it's a little painful getting rid of something, but needless to say, I cannot keep everything.
Me--I am a compulsive buyer and end up having more jewelry, purses and shoes than I could ever use. I might go out to buy a red purse and come home to discover that I have a brand new red purse in my closet! I am trying to unclutter my closets and life by passing these items off to someone else. Items include coins, coin sets, purses, shoes/boots, costume & fine jewelry, books, china pieces, crystal pieces.
Anyway, this is why, if you look at my auctions, you see such an array of very different items. I know I will have enough to keep me selling for the next several months, and then after that I'm going to have to find something else to do.
