Business Profile:
Archeress Arts was founded in May, 2000, at the inception of joining eBay. From the beginning my interests were in being able to purchase and sell freely, and in 2001, I began creating unique and custom necklaces and earrings aimed at renaissance, fantasy, and history buff customers. While these pieces are certainly not authentic museum reproductions, they are available for the discerning fairgoer, SCAdian, and other fine hobbyist folk.
Some of these pieces are even subtle enough to be worn in a more conservative workplace, but overall, these designs have been a delight to create over the years. FAQ:
Customer Service Policy: As I am an individual artist, my time tends to be very limited for production. As such, I feel my customers are not "successful sales" or a feedback rating, but people who make up the lifeblood of my business, who deserve to be treated with respect. I will not lord my feedback rating over another seller, but only say that my customers will speak for me, when it comes to success. To that end, I need your help as a potential customer in letting me know how I may serve you better in the time that I do have, and provide to me any assistance you can in your needs - a change in the length of your necklace, perhaps - accurate ship-to addresses, or a color change, as some examples.
Please, help me help you, by keeping me aware of any changes you may have to your orders, expedited shipping needs, or new styles you might suggest for me to try out.
1. Why $1.65 for the first item (US First Class Mail)?
The average weight of my jewelry is 2 oz, or slightly more. As such, I charge the 2 ounce rate, which is $1.34 as of 5-12-08. The aditional charge covers my packaging costs.
1a. What kind of packaging do you use?
Packaging for First Class mail includes the padded bubble mailer, at .30 cents, bulk cost. I prefer to buy my mailers in bulk so I can keep costs low and pass the savings on to you, the buyer. The additional penny or two covers the cost of the tissue paper, tape, and ink involved in giving you a secured presentable piece, and a legible address for the postal clerks.
Packaging for First Class Mail International includes extra bubble wrap, and well-taped cardboard backing to secure your item in transit. This applies to Priority Mail International as well.
Packaging for all Priority Mail shipments includes extra bubble wrap and tissue, as the cost of the box is covered.
2. When do you ship / What is the cutoff time for shipments?
Orders paid after 6:30am EST will be shipped the following business day by 5:00pm. This is due to my work schedule - it is possible to get a same-day shipment if you are up early enough, giving me enough time to package your order.
Orders are not packaged up and shipped until payment has been received in full and cleared.
Please note that I am not responsible for any delays in your local mail service, but will try to contact you the day of shipment to let you know your package is on its way. If you select First Class Mail (domestic or international), please be advised of delays in your local carrier.
I do not ship on US holidays (Federal holidays). Saturday shipments are occasionally available depending on my schedule.
3. Why would your prices increase?
Several factors may impact my prices over time: A rise in eBay's and PayPal's fees, a rise in the cost of gas or US postal fees, or a rise in the cost of plating. As all of these things increase, I continue to do my best to keep prices low, but whenever I must raise prices, I will provide advance notice whenever possible.
4. Do you negotiate your prices, or trade?
No. I prefer to sell money for money, to keep things running smoothly.
5. I'd like to commission you, but what's your production schedule like?

I am currently available for the occasional item, however, I am not available for long-term projects due to planning my wedding reception in November, as well as time with my husband, family, and with friends in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
It's a bit of a catch-as-catch-can... So if you see something you like, but want it in another color, give me a holler - I may have something not posted yet!
6. My package has not arrived yet. Can you track it for me?
Please see #2, above. Please choose your shipping service appropriately, as Domestic US First Class Mail can take up to 5 to 7 business days or more depending on your local carrier, and Priority Mail usually takes no less than 3 to 5 days to arrive. Because I understand it takes time for your package to arrive, I ship as soon as I am able to - usually the next business day if the payment is received after 6:30am EST, since I work a full time job.
Since I ship from the post office opposite where I work full-time, I receive a receipt from a clerk at the post office which shows the time and date shipped, and the zip codes I am shipping to. I can provide a scan of this, however, it should be noted that International mail cannot be tracked by the USPS, and the cost for domestic delivery confirmation is currently soaring toward $1.00 per shipment. If I receive requests from multiple customers to include this option, I will - however, at present I only add this on for unconfirmed addresses in PayPal, to keep those shipping costs down.
7. Do you sell Do It Yourself kits?
No, sorry, I don't. I do not find them cost-effective.
8. Do you ever have contests, sales, or promotions?
Sure do!
