argent100( 386) AKA Richard Brown, is an author and publisher of various titles dedicated to the detection of counterfeit watches. This one-man crusade comes from a deep concern over the number of auctions on eBay designed to mislead buyers by listing fake watches as real, or attempting some other fraudulent activities online. In an effort to stop this he wrote the Replica Watch Report in order to provide those buyers with information that would allow them to spot fake watches and learn what signs indicated a potential fraud-laden auction.

The most recent works by Richard include a series of "capsule review videos", short but detailed analysis on various watch models. Also, a series of in-depth DVDs are in the works, including the recently released "Introduction to Counterfeit Watches". More is on the way, such as Rolex reviews and a sequal to the Replica Watch Report.

"I firmly believe in using technology to get out my message," says Richard. "I've made my book available as a PDF, as well as in print form. I've also used tools such as Google Print, and soon Google Video, to make my book accessible to as big of a market as possible." Richard designs his own work, as well as shoots his own video. "It's a small business, but one I'm passionate about. I've been a watch collector for years; recently the fakes have gotten very good, good enough to threaten the value of quality watches world-wide."
