"Million Flower Field" by Eve Wheeler 2007
|
Painting has been a creative form of expression all of my life. In 2003, I started selling my artwork in local stores and businesses, because the volume of paintings began taking over my house! It was also during this time when I began receiving requests for commissioned paintings. Since then, I've completed over 100 commissioned projects in various shapes, sizes, and subject matter, using photographs as a reference. Custom artwork is a rewarding way for my customers and me to connect on a higher level. Although oils on canvas are my specialty, I also experiment with watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media. Themes include portraits, animals, landscapes, still life, and anything else that comes to mind. If you are interested in seeing more of my original artwork or would like a quote for a commissioned painting, please visit my website (a direct link below).
I began selling artwork on E-bay in September of 2006, as alternative to traveling art shows. The exposure from E-bay has been very exciting. Now art lovers all over the U.S. and Canada have easy access to my originals and prints--straight from my studio in North Central Florida.
As a buyer and a seller of E-bay merchandise, I understand your concerns about purchasing items online from a complete stranger. So, please take a look at my feedback for a little peace of mind. My greatest desire is having a long list of satisfied customers, such as yourself, growing throughout the years.

Smart Tips for New E-bay Customers
Do your Research -- Before placing a bid on E-bay items, cross-reference similar products. "How much are shipping costs?" and "Are returns accepted?" are just a few questions you should consider.
Reserve Prices-- If a seller has a RESERVE on an item, this means there is a hidden dollar amount that customers must reach before the bid becomes viable. "No Reserve" or "NR" means there is no pre-set price for the auction and you get the item for the highest bid-- regardless the amount.
Returns and Guarantees-- Examine the seller's return policies. You should not have to keep unwanted items!
Feedback--Take a look at the Seller's Feedback to determine their reliability in past transactions. Asking the seller questions before placing a bid can give you an idea of their future response time and communications.
Payment options -- PayPal is the safest method of paying for items on-line, using your credit card. Always go to the PayPal.com website for secure transactions. If you do not have a PayPal account and want to pay for an item with a check or money order, just e-mail the seller to determine if they will accept checks. Be very cautious of sellers who state they offer PayPal and request a money order or check after the bid closes .
Watch List --If you are undecided about bidding on an item, just place it on your "Watch List". E-bay will send you an e-mail before the auction ends. The watch list is completely anonymous to the seller and other watchers.
Favorite's List -- Adding the seller to your "Favorite's List" will enable E-bay to send you a message when new items are listed by that individual.
Best Offer Activity-- Sellers may offer "Buy it Now" items with the option of receiving best offers from potential customers. This may enable you to purchase items lower than the listing price. E-mail the seller via E-bay to make the offer. It's a good way for the buyer and seller to negotiate. Be sure to include shipping and handling fees in the price evaluation.
Reporting Suspicious Activity-- If you believe a seller has unreasonable expectations, they probably do! Notify E-Bay of any suspicious characters and let them investigate...
Happy and Safe E-baying!
Florida Living
Perhaps you are considering a move to Florida or need to relocate. If so, you might want to explore the possibilities of living in or around the city of Gainesville. As a resident of this area for over 13 years, I appreciate the conglomerate of resources it has to offer...excellent schools, medical facilities, and community activities which include celebrating the Arts, Theater, and cultural diversity. Whether you are young or elderly, you will find a wealth of opportunities for your unique interests and personal aspirations.
If you are concerned about Florida's weather, think of all of the other states in the nation that are not immune to hurricanes, tornadoes, or wild fires. We don't contend with massive snow storms and long cold winters here. We do, however, have a few days of brisk temperatures when you can drag out your sweaters and enjoy lighting the fireplace (believe it or not, most homes here have fireplaces!) Afternoon thunderstorms in the summer are frequent, but brief. Battling the heat is no chore because nearly every home and building is equipped with central air conditioning. And if you do like the heat and tanning, the nearest beach is only about an hour away. So, put your fears aside and come to live amongst this special group of folks who are waiting to welcome you!
