I'm an Aries!

Hi! I’m Shirley Luthanen, owner of Artistic Ephemera, and I’ve been a devoted collector of paper ephemera for 35+ years.

I opened my eBay store about 5 years ago (Artistic Ephemera and More: http://stores.ebay.com/Artistic-Ephemera-and-More) where I’ve built up a consistent inventory of fun and interesting items; a mixture of truly vintage paper items such as sheet music, maps, book pages, etc.;  repros of vintage images via postcards, notecards, playing cards, etc.; new and vintage game pieces such as mini dominoes, bingo dots, puzzle pieces, etc.; scrapbooking stickers; printed collage sheets; digital collage sheets scanned and designed by me; watch parts and watch crystals; and lots of other fun stuff!

I began scanning in images from my collections of Victorian trading cards, vintage postcards, antique and vintage books, magazine covers & ads, labels (e.g., cigar, crate, perfume, and more) and other items about 5 years ago; taking a few digital graphics classes along the way. And before I knew it I had over 25,000 images in my digital archives - that's a lot of discs! About a year ago I discovered that artists and craftspeople were looking for the types of images I had been so carefully preserving all these years! So, I began designing and selling digital collage sheets, which I previously sold exclusively at my other online shoppe, but I've recently added them to my eBay store inventory. I've organized them as 'DAEs by Style' and 'DAEs by Subject'.

I feel that most of my success in this business has to do with wanting to provide the best products and customer service I can. Keeping my inventory fresh and varied and offering new and unique digital items is a top priority. I also get my orders out in a timely basis and always notify my customer if there are any delays – after all, life happens! I’m also one of the few sellers on eBay that actually refunds overpayments of S&H fees of $1 or more; I felt this was necessary since estimated fees have to be a little high to cover large orders, which means someone ordering one or two items may get overcharged.
