My name is Donna Pellegata. I'm a children's book illustrator creating illustrations, portraits and other works from my studio in Michigan. I have been an artist for my lifetime and made a business of it for the past gazzillion years. I'm a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG) of NY, Village Fine Arts Association, and the Huron Valley Council for the Arts in Michigan, organizations filled with many talented friends! I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and now reside here, where I spend every minute I can with my family and friends. It's a gorgeous place to live, my studio has views of woods, lake and pasture and I have my family surrounding me including my dogs, horse and a little goldfish named Lucky that my daughter saved from a frozen pond in our front yard. Baby it's COLD here in the winter, but a beautiful site during every season and worth every minute of snow and freezing temperatures to be with the ones I love. 

 To the right is my pastel portrait of Patricia Taylor-Jones, my sister, who passed away from breast cancer in November 2005. I love her and miss her very much. She is my inspiration and reason for being the artist and person that I am today.

Life will never be the same without her.

My background consists of people and pet portraits, murals, handpainted furniture, lampwork, children's illustrations and commissioned works. I currently specialize in children's book illustrations, people and pet portraits and "other commissions upon request" as my workload allows. I love illustrating children's books and that now takes up most of my time. I 've started a gallery in my portfolio for the children's books I've illustrated and will be adding more soon. I'm working on the illustrations for the second book now and the third is forthcoming in 2009-10.

My mission here on ebay is to provide my customers with outstanding service. My sales here vary as the mood strikes. Sometimes I will offer true to life custom pastel portraits, or other other great art and sometimes I will offer artsy antiquey things I find while out and about or from collections  that I think others will enjoy! I strive to create and provide exciting work and other goodies and I will bend over backwards to make sure that I maintain a good working relationship with my clients. I believe in being fair and hope my customers will have the same consideration for me. I've made so many fabulous friends here and I look forward to developing more great relationships that will live long into the future.
