My passion for anything and everything mechanical started at an early age, when I was a kid in the late forties/early fifties. This passion emerged in the form of competitions held between myself and other members of my extended family (mainly cousins and brother) of, roughly, the same age. These competitions entailed identifying the make and model of the hallmark of automotive excess of the era, those wonderful and extravagant American cars, from varying distances and angles. I won more often than not.

Towards the late fifties this passion took on a more realistic and achievable format. Motorcycles. Before my twenty third birthday I travelled to the International Show in Leipzig, Germany ( then behind the iron curtain) and negotiated the sole import and distribution of the MZ motorcycles in Greece. At the time, I did not even think that I was entering a situation which would oblige me to work 80 hours a week for the next thirty years!! I had to learn very fast. I had to learn how to unpack the machines and screw them together safely and properly. I had to learn to tune them and oversee the after sales service to the satisfaction of all customers. I had to establish a network of reliable agents throughout the country. But, above all, I had to learn the labyrinthine maze of import red tape typical of a small country at the time.

Throughout this time, I was drawn towards serious racing and cross country competitions: enter BULTACO of which I became the sole importer/distributor in 1967 and MONTESA followed in 1970 and OSSA 1971 respectively. The remaining of this decade saw me taking over the importation/distribution of: CLICE rider equipment * MOTOPLAT * ATK system * IRIS chains * AUTISA kit * ZETA kit * and later, EUROKIT * AIRSAL kit * GAS-GAS motos * KUNDO for scooters * HARPOON exhaust system * METEOR pistons * CENTURION helmets*.... This was an exciting time. Not only were some of those machines souped-up in my shop and supervised by me personally, but, I myself was also competing much to the chagrin of my wife and family. All this activity of course meant that, over time, I amassed an inordinate volume of spare parts of all kinds and descriptions in order to keep a large number of machines in tip-top competitive condition. I also amassed a certain quantity of mementos. By the early nineties, my company became known as the focus of iche customers Someone who wanted to modify the note of the exhaust, another who wanted to increase slightly the bhp/torque of his machine, someone who wanted to modify the frame even to give his machine a different (and individual) cornering attitude.

Now in retirement, it is these parts and mementos which I sell. Rest assured that each one of these items carries memories for me. A spare part which I sell today is not just a piece of metal for me. It may remind me of the evening I spent working after-hours, many years ago, to fit that very item in a customer's motorcycle, in order to keep him happy. As such, it represents a little bit of my life's work and, to me, it is a solid form of my childhood's ambitions.
