We are Allen and Kristin and we live in Riverside, CA with our
two boys and our dogs (Asher is one of them!) We are both teachers and we
do this in our spare time. Allen has been collecting cards and studying
baseball history since he was a kid and uses Asherpuppy Cards to enable him to
expand his collection and teach our son about the history of baseball. Our
2 year old is probably the youngest person to know who Burleigh Grimes was
:) We buy cards, take what we need for our collection, and sell the rest
on eBay so we can buy more. So if you think we're selling nice cards
cheaper than we could do to make a profit - you're right. We just sell our
extras in groups (it's quicker than selling cards individually), which often
include some really nice and valuable cards. Any money we make just pays
for eBay and Paypal fees. We always want our customers to be happy since
we're collectors also, so we always guarantee 100% satisfaction on anything we
sell.
What do we collect?
In a nutshell, old baseball cards. We are working on a
complete run of Topps sets from the 50's up to the 70's. So far, we either
have or are close to having every set except for 1952 and 1953. Those will
have to wait until we hit the lottery :) Allen likes to claim that
he is the biggest Mickey Mantle fan who is too young to have ever seen the Mick
play. Allen and Mickey share the same birthday (Oct. 20th) and
that's probably what started it. Allen was born the year Mickey
retired. We have a complete run of every Mickey Mantle card made from the
1951 Bowman all the way up through the 1975 MVP cards. We even have the
rare 1954 New York American Journal card with the Yankees home schedule on the
back (I've only seen a few of these and never on eBay - I've got a picture of
ours below, the spots are from the scan and Mick's picture is actually perfect
