Here's a little bit of info about us. Firstly the name ashroadcollectables is made up of ash (my daughter's name) ro (Rosemary's initials) and ad (first two letters of my name backwards) and collectables...well, that just means we love collecting! In our case it is antiques (particularly china) although Rosemary has an eye for anything old and lovely.

 It started last year when Rosemary was helping her dear old Mum clear out the family home and..there was a lot of stuff to go through. Our daughter suggested we try putting a few things on ebay and that's what we did. We were stunned by the prices some of our old, shabby goods fetched. Pretty quickly we were hooked and found ourselves scrounging garage sales, op shops, just about anywhere we could find old wares. Of course some have found their way into our home permanently as inevitably we fell in love with them but many find their way onto ebay. Rosemary enjoys the process of cleaning up old, stained china and restoring it to its former glory if possible, or close to it.

Rosemary inherited some Royal Albert china last year called Blossom Time and here began a love affair with this gorgeous pattern. She hunts it out wherever she can find it and enjoys listing pieces on ebay as she knows many others love it too!

 We take pride in the presentation of our items and they are always carefully cleaned before they are photographed. You can rest assured that any item you purchase from us will arrive clean and shiny and ready to take pride of place in your collection.

  We take care to describe our items as accurately as possible so that buyers know exactly what they are getting before they bid. We know the frustration of getting nasty surprises when damage is not described in the listing and we would hate to be guilty of this ourselves! We both check items before listing them under bright light with a magnifying glass so that we can feel confident in the accuracy of our descriptions. If by chance we do miss some damage that isn't described in our listing we will happily provide a full refund including return postage which very few sellers offer. Many sellers offer refunds but MOST DO NOT PAY RETURN POSTAGE EVEN IF THEY ARE AT FAULT.  We want our customers to be happy - that is our number one priority. 

 Once an item is sold we pack it with utmost care as if the item were our own - read our feedback and you will see that our customers are very happy with our packing - not one breakage in over 450 fragile transactions.

 We used to quote postage up front in our listings but this often led to us being out of pocket and occasionally charging our customers too much.  Now we find that quoting postage once we know the destination is much better as we can be accurate in our costing and neither we nor our customers are out of pocket. We only charge the actual Australia Post cost plus the cost of an Australia Post packing box which we use because they are extra strong.
