The real ATELUGZ

ABOUT ME
Hi, and welcome to my "Me" page. My name is Mark Nagel and I live in Crystal Lake, IL (a "small" town about 50 miles northwest of Chicago) with my wife Rose, our two boys Marcus and Bryan, and our two cats Penny and Woodward. I am a self-professed car nut – have been since I was a kid.
I am an avid collector of Matchbox cars (especially early 1970’s Superfast cars) as well as other diecast cars from Brands like Playart, Penny, Polistil, Schuco, Norev, etc.
My secondary interest lies in collecting dealer promotional cars, or "promos" as they are commonly referred to. To go with my promo models, I collect old dealership memorabilia such as signs, brochures, give-aways, etc (especially Pontiac, Cadillac, and Lincoln-Mercury stuff).
I also collect and build model cars and love just about anything that has to do with cars. These types of items are typically what I sell on ebay as well.
In our garage, we have a real 1967 Bonneville CV (with factory 8-lug wheels, hence the name "atelugz").
If you have any promos or other dealership items or Matchbox cars for sale or trade, please e-mail me. I buy one car or whole collections
MY EBAY PHILOSOPHY:
DESCRIPTIONS: I try to be as accurate as I can with my descriptions, so that there are no disappointments on your end. Most of my auctions are run "AS-IS, no returns. With old and collectible items, there can sometimes be a difference of opinion as to condition. One person sees it as very good, the other as near mint. In the end, it is usually just a matter of opinion. If I have materially misrepresented an item, I will gladly refund your money, less any shipping charges. If it turns out that you just don’t like the item, I can’t help you. I do encourage you to ask questions about any item, but remember – I work during the day, so I won’t get to you until I get home. I also try to stick to items that I know fairly well, in an effort to ensure that my opening bids and reserves are realistic. Speaking of which…
RESERVE AUCTIONS: I know that many of you hate reserve auctions. Unfortunately, sometimes there are circumstances that require that I put reserves on some of my items. This is mainly to protect my investment in the event of a failure with ebay (which I have seen more than once). My reserves are what I percieve to be the fair market price for an item, and I am not just "fishing" to see what an item is worth. Hopefully, you understand.
SHIPPING/HANDLING/INSURANCE: My policy is to ship each item that you purchase so that nothing will be damaged in transit. This includes using new boxes (except in the case of large or irregular items), and packing all items in styrofoam "peanuts". Why peanuts? Because they protect better than newspapers (which can crush easily), or other hard foam packing materials (which can damage your item). My minimum shipping charge is $6.50, but I believe that you get what you pay for. All items are shipped via USPS Priority Mail, insured to bid value, or to a higher value if you request it. I will also ship some larger items via UPS, if I think it will cost you less. In 10 years of buying and selling through the mail, I have had only one item that I sent arrive damaged. My shipping charges are not negotiable, so please don’t ask. I ship only on Saturdays, so please be patient – your item will ship as soon as practical.
FEEDBACK: I believe that feedback is the key to one’s ebay reputation. It is my policy to leave feedback for all bidders once they have left feedback for me. This lets me know that the item or items have arrived safely and that the buyer is happy with them. As a buyer, I always pay promptly, and I expect the same from my bidders. It is a shame that ebay has eliminated the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers who try to cheat the system or refuse to pay. These people waste my time, cost me fees, and cheat other bidders out of items by doing this. If you can't pay, do not bid. I do this as a hobby, so I can’t devote full time energy to it. However, I will try to give you the best value and product for your money. Thank You.
SPECIAL NOTICE: (I stole this from another ebayer cause it sums up my thoughts perfectly). I am gainfully employed in a full-time occupation. I sell on eBay for relaxation and fun and to share my private stash of duplicate items and other neat stuff with the world. If you are going to be demanding, rude, mean, nasty, impatient, or generally a pain in my butt and ruin my fun or make this too much like work for me, then please do not bid, I beg of you. I do the best I can to provide good stuff as quickly as time permits.
