Greetings eBayers and thank you for stopping in! I hope you find that very special e-coin in my listings that's of interest to you. If not today, come back again soon. I have lots of elongated coins to list and I do try to list bunches, as many as time allows!
I live in Northern California and my grandchildren live about seven hours away in the southern part of the state. Since they were born, I have made it a point to see them for a long weekend every month or so. Children grow so fast! My trips do, of course, "interfere" with eBay but I would have it no other way!
I sometimes do have limited internet access when I am visiting the family but it's not always easy trying to find a few moments on eBay with three young'uns climbing all over and wanting attention!

As noted in my auctions, I will post information here about any upcoming weekend activities which will keep me away from eBay.
Things are getting busy as the holidays quickly approach! With my work schedule and family and shopping and ... EEK! I always say "the holidays will come and go whether you're ready or not" so just do what you can and want to do and then just relax and enjoy!
I have a family wedding coming up this weekend (November 21st) and will be pretty busy with the activities as well as with visiting family.
Thanksgiving is just next week and that will be an even busier few days considering travelling, cooking, eating, visiting, shopping on "Black Friday" (are we really going to get up that early?! another eek!) ...
As usual, I will check on eBay and my e-mails from time-to-time and will begin mailing on the Monday following my weekend auctions.
Happy "getting ready for the holidays"!!

I have had a number of eBayers ask me about cleaning elongated pennies. There are many ways to do it but here's my favorite method. Thanks for the interest and have fun!
I briefly run a bunch of coins through a "bath"/rinse of TARN-X metal cleaner. You can buy TARN-X pretty much anywhere. This step isn't necessary on all coins but it really helps on the dirty ones so I generally just do them all. No soaking! I once left a coin in the solution by accident for a few days and it started dissolving the coin! I always wear latex/rubber gloves and I keep my TARN-X in a container so I can re-use it until it gets too, too dirty and needs to be replaced. Rinse really well and dry the coins well so they don't dry with spots/watermarks.
Then to really put a nice shine on the pennies, wearing gloves again, I smear a small blob of BRASSO (there are other brands but that one is my favorite and you can buy it anywhere) on a paper plate and work on 4-5 coins at a time. Any more and the Brasso dries too quickly so it's harder to polish.
You can then just rubba-rubba with an old cloth until the coins are clean and shiny. An old toothbrush can be used to clean out grooves in a coin design as necessary. The drying and polishing can be done while watching TV.
If you are pressing your own designs, remember, that pre-1982 pennies are ideally the best to use because of the much higher copper composition. If all you have is a newer penny, smash away and have fun doing it!
