I have developed a web page of Rosenthal information, with pictures of Rosenthal figurines. There are so many wonderful photographs of Rosenthal figurines on eBay that it seems a shame to "waste" them all and not ask the sellers for permission to copy their pictures for my Rosenthal figurines page.
The aim of my page is to illustrate every figurine made by Rosenthal. As at 24 October 2003 I have pictures of 890 of the 1,570 figures made by the Kunstabteilung factory and 608 of the 825 known pieces in the Bahnhof Selb factory.
How I pack delicate porcelain
I pack all item very carefully. First I wrap in new, clean acid-free tissue paper, scrunching the paper to pad any fragile areas. I then wrap in new bubble-wrap which I stick with masking tape, so that you can easily unstick it. I then usually wrap it again with bubble-wrap just to be sure, before packing it carefully in a large enough sturdy box with good quality packing beans (which I recycle from packages sent to me). I then address this box, then pack it into a larger box using some bubble-wrap and some recycled beans that aren't good enough for the inner box, packing it until it's secure. I then tape thoroughly, apply "FRAGILE" tape to all sides, address, stick an airmail sticker on all sides and then it's ready to survive a long trip in the hands of the postal service!
My husband's cameras
My husband Leon Altoff has used Pentax cameras for about 20 years now. He's recently upgraded from his Z-1p bodies to the MZ-S and he also has the new Pentax digital SLR - the *istD. So we're auctioning all his previous bodies, some surplus lenses, flashes and a number of odd bits. You can visit his web pages at www.bluering.org.au/leon.
All of his equipment is very well cared for and most of it is in excellent condition, except for some items he bought second-hand. Just about everything he's bought new has the original box and manuals - this will be indicated in the auctions.
