Suits, Jackets, Trousers:

Dry-clean rarely, if ever, and NEVER more than ONCE a season. The dry-clean process is torture on fine clothes, especially on the fine and delicate fibers. The delicate fabrics are organic and pourous, simply allow the item to hang alone for one or two days after use in a well ventilated area. If desired having the item hand-pressed and steamed is an option. If dry-cleaned it is advised to find a reputable cleaner that is familiar or understanding of the valuable and precious fabrics. WHEN Storing seasonal suits use cotton-twill garmant bags(the container store).

Allow the item to breath, avoid keeping it stored in garment bags or plastic sheaths(Unless Stored for length). Let the garment rest between use and try to avoid wearing the item for consecutive days. Jackets should be placed on thick, molded hangers to help maintain their intended shape and trousers should be hung over a hanger bar at the mid point (knees). Brush the garment thorughly after each use.

Sweaters and Knits:

Do Not Dry-clean, if possible. Cashmere, Wool, or Fine Cotton is never the same after being drenched in trichloroethylene, the chemical used in the dry-cleaning process. Hand Washing, although time consuming is the very best option to keep the garment pristine.

Ties:

Untie the knot, by simply reversing the steps taken to tie it, instead of pulling the narrow end through the knot, which put a great deal of stress on the tie. Do not be preoccupied with the tie wrinkling where the knot is tied after several uses, this area is unnoticable and the tie will knot in the same place.

Dress Shirts:

Self Wash , if possible. If it must be professionally laundered make sure the service provider is familiar with the quality and delicate nature of the garment and avoid any starch. Hang dry is the best option since the high heat of machine dry will stress and breakdown the gentle fabric. Wrinkles are easier to remove while the shirt is still damp, hand press the shirt with an iron and water bottle handy.

SHOES:

INVEST in CEDAR Shoe Trees (absorb Moisture from shoe leather). Clean with a shoe brush every time you put them on. Always use a shoe horn to prevent damage. USE wax-based polishes(KIWI)and lint-free cloths to condition your shoes between professional shines.
