About the artist: April VanSickle is a fantasy artist and lives in Florida with her wonderful family and pets. Most of her works are done in watercolor, however she also does some digital painting and is learning to work in acrylics. Her inspiration comes from anything around her: nature, books, songs and more. She is most inspired by the pre-Raphaelites, surrealism and the impossible works by M.C. Escher.

April is a completely self taught artist, learning from trial and error, books and the internet. Her heart has always belonged to the fantasy realm though as she was always reading books like the Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia and the like while growing up.

April has had one piece (Mermaid Queen of Atlantis) published in a book titled "Visions of Atlantis".
