My 1982 Shark

OVERVIEW:
Thanks for checking me out. I am an independent seller of Corvette parts based in the Washington DC area. My company is (www.vettebay.com) which I run part-time. I chose to sell Vette parts out of personal interest and a convenient relationship with a local shop who helps me keep my Shark out of the junkyard!
PRICING & SALES:
The items I sell are usually in good shape and the pricing structure is based on availability, originality, and condition. As a rule, a nice original part is often worth 100% the cost of a reproduction and I generally start bidding (if applicable) at 25%-50%. . Keep in mind that some unavailable parts are at a premium price for offering them to you at the click of a button! The parts I sell do not belong to me and sometimes I do not even set the prices. I only receive a modest percentage of the sales, so the more desirable items are sold at a premium to balance out the things I sell cheap. If you feel my asking price is too high - you may choose not to bid, but some items I will only list once or twice due to the effort involved and the related fees. If an item does not sell I will usually lower the price on consecutive listings, but be forewarned that there is usually someone who will agree with the value and beat you to it - so if you need something, you should probably just bid and do so early so you don't forget. I do sell to our local customer base - so once again - some items may only be listed once and occasionally I will have to pull something if we need it for a customer.
CONTACT & POLICY:
If you have a question about a specific auction, I check my email twice a day, so that is your best bet. If I do not answer your email it either means I have no way of finding out in time or your question annoyed me :) I am available via phone for those of you who like to hear a voice in the afternoons and evenings at 240-876-0935 or 1-800-993-6540 (Mon-Sat 10am-8pm EST). If you just need advice - I'm probably not the best person to talk to as I am not an expert.
FEEDBACK, CUSTOMER SERVICE, SHIPPING & RETURNS
Feedback is important to me and I will try to accommodate my customers short of the point where this is no longer profitable or enjoyable. If you are not happy with an item, please contact me prior to leaving feedback. This does not mean that you can bully me into a discount or return, but rather that I will hear your case and make a fair decision. I take returns about half the time unless of course you misread or did not read the entire description, did not look at the photos, or did not ask questions or verify the application as needed. I usually won't take returns on fragile or specially dyed interior parts. Most items are ship out within 2 business days of receiving payment via UPS or sometimes USPS. I have become fairly proficient at packing and I try to use good boxes and supplies. I try to quote shipping in my descriptions, but the cost is ultimately based on the size of box I have available. I typically add 5-10% to the actual cost to cover supplies and offset some of the eBay fees for all the items that do not sell. I don't mind shipping internationally to our friends in the Netherlands, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, etc - but please be prepared to pay the fee or ask for a quote before you bid! I recently sent a $50 spare tire carrier to France with a shipping bill of nearly $300 !!!
In summary, I realize that I will not always be able to please everyone and I sometimes make mistakes. Just remember that I am but one person running this project - from stripping cars - to photography - to the listing - to the shipping and everything in between - and know that I always mean well and do the best I can.
Thank you for reading. Mike
GENERAL DISCLAIMER:
New parts will carry any manufacturers given warranty (contact us if you need specific details). Used parts generally have some wear and we do not always make a note of every imperfection. We do try to honestly describe and photo items as best we can but each listing is sold "as-is". We make reasonable efforts to correctly identify and describe items by proper name and use, but there is no warranty against failure, no guarantee for application correctness, and no provisions for "judging" condition. Returns will only be accepted on a limited basis at the sellers discretion with the buyer to pay shipping both ways.
