Hello! I'm Aya.

 

I’m a professional belly dancer with great taste in costumes, jewelry, fabrics, and many other things.

Unfortunately, I am also a compulsive shopper and packrat. 

 

My love of all things pretty has led me to keep clothing racks in the living room, storage boxes in the guest bedroom, under the bed storage units sitting on top of beds (b/c there are already too many storage units under the bed), cases of things on the dining room table- You get the idea....

 

E-bay has been a great solution.  Many of the items I put on e-bay are things I have bought for myself, family members and friends. I feel like things I part with go to people who actually appreciate them!


          I am originally from Istanbul, Turkey.  I grew up going to the Grand Bazaar and the Misir Carsi, shops in the Eminonu region, Taksim boutiques, and the Spice markets.  I have a preference for local vendors and I prefer to buy from the source or at least as close to the source as possible- I enjoy buying from people who feel connected to the things they sell and have great pride in them.  I don’t buy things that I don’t approve of!!! 

             I go to Istanbul twice a year. This allows me to see family, stay current with the belly dance scene, perform, and of course SHOP.  Those of you who know and understand the value of certain items I put up for auction will be shocked by some of my starting bid prices.  – You will often end up with things of MUCH GREATER value than what you’ve paid for them.
