I
like to think about myself as an expressionist even though I am
an outside artist. When I paint I am taken by the transcendental
vibrant color and the contrast of light and dark that are the reflection
of emotion and energy of the creative process. I am known best for
my city and landscapes as well as still life works painted using
a palette knife.
Thick
impasto was always very dominant in all of my paintings no matter
if a brush or a knife were used. I started painting with a palette
knife in 1999 and fell in love with the effects I was getting as
well as the possibilities of this technique. The knife turned out
to be the voice of my imagination.
As
every artist I always like to try something new. Even though I keep
returning to what is naturally my style, I find getting away from
it periodically, to be creatively therapeutic.
My
abstract paintings are my getaway. When I'm creating images without
any realistic form, just color and emotion that surrounds it, I
enter another place, a peacefull and tranquil space with warm energy.
I hope they take you there too, when you look at them.
All
of my work is original, signed and acompanied by a certificate of
authenticity. I have an extensive experience as an artist working
in oils. I have been painting for 23 years and although my medium
of choice are oils, I have also worked in acrylics and pastels.
My glass art is mostly kiln formed and commissioned. My mosaics
are truely unique sculptural art pieces. They are of gallery quality,
original and unique in design and composition. Some of my mosaic
art can be seen in Niche Magazine. |
