My Buying/Selling History

I started buying collectibles from yard sales and swap meets in the mid 1980, and sold
my tuffat the local flea market on the week ends. After a few years, I
graduated to indoor flea markets and Antique Malls .

Eventually, I went on the road selling the stuff at Antique/Collectible shows around
the Western States. Then in 1997, at a show in Great Falls, Montana, a fellow dealer
introduced me to eBay, and the rest is eBay history.

My Future!

My interest in computers and the Internet took me in search of unique ways to make money while sitting at my computer at home or, if I felt like traveling, while on the road.

Most everything I saw on the Net was selling either a product or a service, and much like eBay Auctions, I would have to conduct some sort of manual labor, not to mention finding the inventory, taking pictures, writing descriptions, and posting the listings.

Don't get me wrong, I love every minute of what I do on eBay.

One day I came to a site that was talking about Affiliate or Associate programs, which would generate income for referrals.

These are revenue sharing arrangements with Web sites selling products or services. By sending people to these sites, a commission is paid when a sale is made.

I found out that these programs are remarkably easy to join!!

One way which works well is to concentrate on a topic of interest to others, perhaps a "niche" part of that interest. Then create a Web site around that theme by writing valuable information that others are needing.

By selecting good affiliate programs which fit closely with that theme, these commercial or selling sites can be blended into the theme or content site, using text links to that site.
