At home on the Farm with ' Monkey Business'

| My name is Barbara Smock - Babs for short. I am a collected, galleried, award winning British equine artist. Growing up in England, horses were a big part of my life. The village riding school was within walking distance of our house, so I practically lived there. All of my early drawings and paintings were of the equine variety. I moved to the U.S. in my early 20's and my passion for horses was put on hold for a few years while I raised a family. I continued to study different forms of art, taking classes at the local University, and entering an occasional art contest. |

| In 2003, I started to sell some of my watercolors locally and on eBay. Thrilled with the response, I continued to produce paintings, while balancing a full time job, family, and small Arabian horse farm. Taking early retirement from my job in 2005, I turned professional, listing with the Arkansas Artist Registry, and joining the Spring River Art Gallery. I also competed in local and National art shows.
I spend many hours fixing fences and feeding the animals.
Our animal menagerie consists of 7 large horses, 2 tiny ones, Rimshot, Trickshot, Chigga and Boomer, the Jack Russells ( who keep an eye on me while I paint ) and Elvis, the cat.
