BARON ART ESTATE MANAGERS, LLC
Lynne Pauls Baron Welcomes YOU!
I am happy to announce the publication of my book: F. Luis Mora: America's First Hispanic Master [1874-1940], published by Falk Art Reference, 2008. It is available on Amazon.
Our websites are www.baronart.com and www.fluismora.org.
I am guest-curator for the traveling museum show of F. Luis Mora's works that opens September 24, 2009 at the Mattatuck Museum, Waterbury, Connecticut. The exhibition will travel to numerous museums around the country until the end of 2010.
All of our artworks are guaranteed -- Our Guarantees and Refunds
We recognize the risk to art buyers on the internet: Are the pieces really as advertised? We want our buyers to have peace of mind that their money is being well-spent. We give you ONE MONTH after receiving your purchase to determine and satisfy yourself that the artwork is as represented under the following guarantees. Please use your month wisely, as we pay consignors thirty days after you receive your artwork, and we are therefore unable to give refunds after that time.
Please scroll down to see the definition and terms of the guarantee on the artwork that interests you.
If we guarantee AUTHENTICITY, the artwork should be executed by the artist stated. Please note your obligation under this guarantee. For a refund, please send us a letter from an expert on the artist, stating the legitimate reasons why it has been judged not authentic. Emails from authenticators are acceptible if they are signed with full name and contact information at the writer's work place so we can confirm the email. We accept letters and emails from curators whose museums hold the artist's works, from authors of the artist's catalogues raissone, authenticators of the artist's estates, curators of the artist's exhibitions, and other legitimate experts. Just ask us, and we will help you to identify an appropriate expert. We DO NOT accept letters from the artist's collectors, family, friends or neighbors. We DO NOT accept letters from gallery owners unless they have published on the artist. We DO NOT accept letters from any auction house, because they are often wrong, and their motives are entirely financial. We want to refund your money if a painting is not "right", so we urge all buyers not to go to self-appointed authenticators, because it wastes your valuable time, and it might preclude a refund.
If a painting is sold as ATTRIBUTED, in our best judgment it probably was executed by the artist stated, but we are not confident enough to guarantee authenticity. Attributions are based on the painting itself, and/or notations, provenance, inscriptions or other stated factors. Because we are authorized to authenticate works by F. Luis Mora, but not his colleagues, we are very conservative in our authenticity guarantees, particularly with consignments that have no provenance. Therefore, most highly listed artists are sold as attributions, giving the buyer the opportunity to research an artwork that he or she has purchased at a price well below the artist's auction records.
If our rating merely says SIGNED, it means that we are neutral as to whether the painting is authentic or not. Usually this rating is used for artists that we have not handled, and/or artists with enormously strict standards of authenticity, such as the French Impressionists.
If a painting is listed as STYLE OF, MANNER OF, SCHOOL OF, or FOLLOWER OF it means that it resembles the artist stated, but it probably is NOT executed by the artist's hand.
If a painting is guaranteed to be an ANTIQUE it means that it is more than 100 years old, and that it is NOT a modern reproduction.
FRAMES: We describe artworks as they look here, pointing-out any flaws that we see, and we show you a picture of the frame on the listing. Many period frames are old wood and/or fragile gesso, and even when well-packed there can be damage during shipping. FRAMES ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
We are careful and painstaking in our inspection and research of the artworks we sell. Every listing includes a research summary and condition report. If we are uncertain about authenticity, or if we sell a piece executed by an artist unfamiliar to us, we let you know it is an attribution and not in our area of expertise. We provide all information in our possession to every courteous bidder who emails us. We wish to sell art to people who trust our guarantee, feedback from more than 500 paintings sold to happy eBay buyers, and our other fine listings.
With sincere thanks and warm wishes,
Lynne Baron
