Hi! Thank you for stopping by!A little background, so that you will get a feel for who you are 'meeting'. I live in Ontario, Canada, in a charming, small Victorian-era town, about an hour outside of Toronto. I started on Ebay in March of 2000, strictly as a buyer of antique laces and vintage clothing. I am constantly on the lookout for antique laces and beaded trims to use on the costuming of the one-of-a-kind multi media fantasy sculptures I do. And, I have always loved the glamour, design and quality of vintage clothing. To me, one of the most appealing aspects of antique and vintage clothing is the romance of wondering who the original owner was~~where did they wear this garment? What were they like? Was the occasion happy or sad? My collecting interests range from the mid 1800s to the 1950s. I am particularly fond of 1950's Suzy Perette designs, and over the last couple years have been fortunate to acquire some very representative designs of this label.
Like many collectors, about 6 months after starting with Ebay, I realized (with some not-so-subtle nudging from my hubby), that I had way too much stuff for our small house. It was at this point that I started selling on Ebay.
With my love of estate sales and estate auctions, selling on Ebay, has not really diminished all the stuff I have! If anything, I now have more 'stuff' than when I started!
I love selling on Ebay, and one of the perks is the many fantastic people I have met and continue to meet.
This And That!
The one thing I vowed when I started selling on Ebay was to treat every bidder the way I would want to be treated. I pride myself in the customer service I provide, and urge all bidders, if they have ANY questions or concerns about any article, to please email me.Payment options, mailing cost, and return policy is detailed on each auction listing, along with any condition concerns. Please take the time to read the whole listing to avoid any concerns after auction end.
A note about vintage clothing~~this clothing has had a life before I acquired it (in some cases it may have been a rather active life!). When possible, I launder all clothing before listing. Some vintage clothing, however is dry-clean only, in which case, in order to keep the opening bid reasonable, I leave that up to the new owner. This clothing has also probably been exposed to certain odours that may not be evident until the garment is wrapped in tissue, packed in plastic and then contained in a box for several weeks while going through the mailing process. Usually an airing will solve any slight odour that may become evident. And...if it is an obvious odour which is noticed on listing, I will mention this in the condition part of the auction.
We do have pets. Two cats, and a lovable teddy-bear of a dog.
Now, this little guy may look hairy, but he is non-shedding (a Wheaten terrier).
All the clothing and linens are kept in one closed room which is pet-free, and are stored in a closed closet or rubbermaid bins. Every effort is made to guard against any problem that pets may cause. However, if you are allergic to pet dander, I advise you to take note of the above.
A note about AOL~~on occasion AOL can be rather persnickedty with other ISP's. If you have not heard from me within 5 hours after auction end, do not panic - it is more than likely a problem with your spam filters being set too high, or a compatibility issue between aol and your isp. I will keep trying, and urge you to contact me also within several hours of auction close.
