WICCA'S BAD RAP
Mention the word wicca , witch , witchcraft , or pentagram , and people automaticly think " devil worshipper " or "satan worshipper "
This is NOT the case . The devil is a product , and character of the "churchs" faith ,,,,,,,, not wicca .
The pentagram , or pentacle , is a good sign in wicca . The five points signify the four elements , ..earth... air ....fire ... water ... and the top point refers to the soul .
Even the inverted star is not always a bad sign. Some wiccans use it to declare that they are 2nd level wiccan . Some covens use it to mean balance. (as the star is resting on one point .)
BUT , ,,This symbol has been "adopted " by Hollywood horror films , and black magic "worshipers ". who "think" they know what it means .
Satan worshippers also embed the goats head into this symbol , and even it was "adopted " from another sign.
Wiccas bad rap is due to the " faith wars " of days gone by . when the church would condemn anything that was not of their teachings .
It's biggest enemy being science .
Many scientists were burned at the stake for challanging the churches view on nature . space and the universe .
Even the great physicist Galileo , was burned for teaching that the earth revolved around the sun , unlike the churchs thoughts , that said the earth was the center of the universe , and everything revolved around it.
Members of the Knights Templar , ( who used to gaurd the Vatican). And members of the the Illuminati , were also burned or made into the enemy for their opposing views and use of science . They also used the four elemental signs of earth , wind , fire, and water .
Wicca suffered the same fate , and was forced underground .
Science has made a great comeback , and is taught freely today.
But wicca still seems to have that bad lable . " NOT OF THE CHURCH "
Wicca is harmless. and is more closely related to native american beliefs of natural healing , mother earth, etc...
Wiccans golden rule is ; " an ye harm none , do what thou will " They are strictly against causing harm to people or animals in any way. They do not perform sacrifices on animals , or anything of the sort .although they are often blamed for it anytime it happens . .
Wiccans also follow the 3 fold law . which states that , what good you put into the world, you will get back three times over , but what bad you put into the world , you will also get back three times over. This is it's own reward and it's own deterrent .
