About the creator SEAN PATTY:
The creative force behind the mature readers comic book series WORGARD: VIKING BERSERKIR, Sean Patty founded independent Stronghold Studios in late 1997 when he created, authored, illustrated and then published the first part of his visionary 250-page epic Dark Age graphic novel.
His work has been internationally acclaimed, drawing comparisons to legendary artists such as Frazetta and Richard Corben for its lushly detailed and imaginative vision.
Following an LA Times interview in 2000 and a general dissatisfaction with the comics industry monopoly held over independent art comics distribution by Diamond Comics Distributors, Patty decided a hiatus was in order and a new battle plan necessary.
Since his reemergence in 2006, Patty has been working exclusively under the new BATTLEGROUND VICTORY banner on the Worgard saga and a half dozen other comics projects started while he was away.
Patty was born and raised in the frozen northern lands of Canada. His ancestry is a blend of Norwegian, English and Irish blood.
Being a free-spirited man, he has travelled through the USA, lived in a commune, worked a hundred jobs ranging from a butcher, salesman, machine operator, barroom bouncer, steel mill burner, dock worker, gun maker, a supervisor, conveyor mechanic, equipment operator, etc.
Having explored the various art forms of music, writing, poetry, painting, sculpture and photography, Patty believes his true calling is as a storyteller working in the most challenging medium of all: Sequential Art Comics.
A self-taught artist, he lives alone in a studio stronghold in S. California where, during the night at his drawing table, visions of the ancient Dark Ages of Worgard, the Asgardian Thunder God THOR and the Amazonian feral jungle beauty JAGUAA unfurl before his mind's eye.
