From their beginnings
75,000 years ago, beads have been tremendously important to those who
possess them. Far more than mere personal adornment, they are used in
ritual and prayer, as money and valuable trade items, and to convey the
social status of the wearer.
For centuries, many of these beads have traveled the world.
We recognize that they
are a very collectible bit of history, and we know that they are not in
infinite supply .

ongoing spontaneous discussion of collectible beads. All are welcome to
post images, ask questions and share information related to collectible
beads. If you possess a bead you would like to know more about, post a
good image here, and others will tell you what they may know about the
bead. There is no "staff" here, but a group of enthusiasts, collectors,
researchers and scholars from around the world who use the site.
