I work with soft glasses- Italian Effetre, Vetrofond, German Lauscha, Reichenbach, Thompson enamels with a COE of 104 and also with American Bullseye- COE90. I enjoy making a variety of different shapes- flowers, discs, rounds, tubes, tiles in vibrant eye catching colors. After each bead is created, it is immediately placed into a digitally controlled kiln to anneal overnight. The bead holes are thoroughly cleaned with a dremel w/ diamond bit and strung for photos.
Until I was 28 years old, I had never done anything artistically. I had worked in the medical field and loved it!! Somehow I stumbled upon lampwork beads on Ebay. I was mesmerized and had to learn!! I was self taught with books and lots of trial and error. Every day is a learning experience, a challenge and a chance to grow. I feel very fortunate to be able to work from my home studio. I work while my son is at school.
I'm not very active in any groups or clubs for glass artists, do any bead shows or sell to local shops. At this particular point in my life, every day is just too hectic. I look forward to the future and a less demanding time to take classes and get involved in the glass community. Always feel free to E-mail me
