My wife and I took this color photograph of the Hale Bopp comet on Easter Sunday, 1997. The comet was at its brightest point just after dusk in the NW sky.

The church is St. Paul's Lutheran and is approximately 10 miles east of Boone on the west side of Highway 17. It's a beautiful country church that I'd always admired when traveling between my home town of Eagle Grove and Des Moines, Iowa.

We have been selling on eBay since 1998. In 2000 I chose to quit my demanding state job and start selling full-time on eBay. I didn't know it then, but today I can say it was the best decision I made. We're not millionaires, but I wouldn't trade what we do now for anything. The freedom and flexibility of being self-employed is priceless!

My wife continued to work at her insurance job until 2006 when her position was eliminated. We are now a team working side by side. The only consequence is I can't crank my music up like before. Thank goodness for ipods!
