Scott Bouwens (Bearfoot Art) has
been making lampwork beads since 1998. His work has been featured in various books and
magazines such as Bead and Button, Lapidary Journal, Crafts Report, Bead
Unique, and was also recently published in the 2006 Collectible Bead
Artists Calendar and the 2005 Bead Review - Artistic Excellence.
Scott also has some work in the Kobe Lampwork Museum in Japan
and is also honored to have his work touring in the Trajectories
Exhibit - Progressions in Contemporary Art Glass Beads sponsored
by The International Society of Glass Beadmakers and The Bead
Museum in Arizona. Scott will also be a presenter at the
2007 International Society of Glass Beadmakers Gathering in
Minneapolis. He
uses Effetre and Vetrofond glass and is known for the colors he creates
from using fine silver leaf in his beads. He sells his work at bead
shows around the USA, Galleries, here on eBay, and also from his website. Scott is the
inventor and creator of the
Electric
Mandrel Spinner, Hand Stabilizers, and the Rolling Marver...amazing
new tools for lampworkers. (all tools
are patent pending). Bouwens lives in La Conner, Washington
with his wife and son.
Bearfoot Art is a home-based business of glass beadmaking and
jewelry design. Scott is the beadmaker, tool-maker, and photographer,
and Monica designs jewelry, designs the website, and handles all of the
business details. It is their mission to help show the world what
a collectible art form lampwork beads can be. They are
miniature works of art that deserve their place in the art
scene. They have built their business and lives around being
able to stay at home together with their son and any future children.
