Hello and welcome to our little page. We live in a very small town in the North Central Idaho Panhandle (every town, except two, is small in Idaho)! I am, primarily, a loom beader. I have sold my beadwork throughout the US and in Canada, Germany, Ireland, England, France, Switzerland, Greece, Bosnia, Australia, Romania, and even in Russia and I also sell my beadwork in a local Artisan Shop and on Ebay when our Bead Group (GSBG) has special auctions and exhibitions. I have been loom beading since I was about 12. Take my word for it, I am much older now...I have been doing this type of work, off and on, for 40+ years. After a work accident, a very good friend of ours in Port Angeles, Washington encouraged me to get back into beading full-time and we are both very greatful to her for all her encouragement and support. She was an Angel when we needed an angel the most. I have since met quite a few Angels in the eBay Beading Group I belong to-The Glass Seed Beaders Group (GSBG). With their help and encouragement (and reading alot of How-to books and magazines) I learned how to do a multitude of different stitches and how to create and design jewelry! They are a great group of Angels! If you love glass seed beads, and would like to join the GSBG, just click on the link below.
I create loomed Delica Bead pictures, wall hangings, bookmarks and other such items on a very large loom (8 inches x 24 inches). I also make specialized Dream Catcher Earrings and Necklaces, Native American Buffalo Bone Chokers, Russian and Peyote Stitch Earrings and Necklaces, and a new stunning combination of Swarovski crystals and woven bead necklaces and earrings.
Loom Weaving: Some people are now referring this form of beading as "Bead Painting" because of the blending of bead colors to form a beautiful design or picture. Instead of using paint, the color media is Delica Beads (of which there are over 1000 different shades and textures now). Only Delica Beads are used because of the small size and uniformity of the bead. They are the cadillac of beads and are more expensive, but they are the best bead to use for this type of art.
Back to business...We pay immediately at the end of auction and we always leave feedback for the sellers or buyers once feedback has been left. As of 3/11/09, we have a 100% positive feedback rating both in buying and selling and that is for ALL the years we have been with Ebay, not just the past 12 months.
My Other Half is "Mr Ken's Wood Bin"
Mr. Ken is a disabled Viet Nam vet and is now doing woodwork as a hobby (which he has been doing for many years). We call it a hobby because just about every dime he makes on a sale goes right back into making more items or buying new equipment. Besides, it keeps him out of trouble.
The most requested items he makes are horizontal/vertical Bead Looms and bead tube holders/racks. The Bead Looms we make are strong and made to last. Great for beginner and expert beadweavers alike. Sturdy enough to take the constant pressure and tension of the warp threads. The Bead Looms come in 2 sizes - 8" wide x 12" tall and 8" wide x 15" tall. We also make 8" wide x 18" tall and 8"wide x 24" tall by special order only. Another item that has become quite popular with our bead customers is our Bead Tube Holders and Bead Tool Holders. These racks will hold anywhere from 12 beads tubes or tools (mini-rack) to 55 bead tubes (max-rack) with a couple sizes in between. Check them out when you get the chance.
All items are made of the finest quality Poplar (hardwood) with the best grains we can find. All stains and varnishes are hand-rubbed to bring out the best of the wood. We don't rush to get any of our wood pieces made. When you rush, you make mistakes and the product never looks or functions as well as it should. Usually during the Winter, our woodshop closes down because of the cold temperatures. Stains and varnishes do not set up as well as we like and we don't feel confident about the quality and workmanship when done under these conditions.
We hope we can keep up with this page. We want to post new items here at least once a week, so check back often. It was very nice to have met you, and we would consider it a pleasure to be able to make something especially for you.
NOTE: After 40+ years of beading, I am having to give it up. My cataracts have gotten worse and the Retinitis Pigmentosis (RP) is progressing. This is something that was expected, but I was sort of hoping it would come much later. Beading is my identity and I really dislike the fact that I am having to give it up. I had so many more things I wanted to make...I will be selling all of my precious beads and everything that I have that pertains to beading. I will greatly miss creating new beaded items for my dear customers, family, and friends. It has been a great joy in my life, but all good things must come to an end...including this. I want to thank you all for sticking with me. It has been a pleasure.
