WELCOME TO JUDITH CHENEY'S ART WORLD
I am a painter who works in acrylics in Folk Art style. I have painted and drawn all of my life and love bright colors, patterns and subjects that appeal to my imagination. I often paint from memories of a wonderful journey or a vivid scene from my childhood in Harrodsburg, Ky., an environment rich in beauty and characters, (some ghosts -- Daniel Boone, a host of Shaker Sisters and Brethren and others). 
Presently I share an old house in Asheville, North Carolina, with two cats and 3 dogs who are often featured in my paintings along with many dear creatures who have shared my life in past years.
My son Phil also paints (often behind the Snake Oil Medicine Show band as they tour the country). His "Starship Titanic" is shown here sailing the cosmos. (The paintings shown on this page are copyrighted by the artists, unless otherwise noted).

I have been painting all of my life and my paintings are hanging all over the world. I specialize in commissions of private homes showing the family, pets and favorite possessions; and portraits of inns and b & b's. (See the Waverly Inn, Hendersonville, N.C. below). I also paint landscapes of whole towns. You can see these in my auctions and in my ebay store (click on the red sale tag). My son started drawing at age two and now his paintings are all over the world too. He loves brilliant color and has a great sense of humor in his work. He paints in performance with THE SNAKE OIL MEDICINE SHOW, a "Zappalachian" band that has toured the United States several times over and Europe.
