A Little "Behind the Scenes" Information about Ben's Custom Tack

"Ben" of Ben's Custom Tack is Ben Perry.  A lifetime horselover, Ben has been making and repairing full size horse tack his entire life (50+ years!).  He is considered by many to be a "Master Craftsman".  In the past few years, Ben has been making miniature, very authentic looking, model horse tack.  His website, www.benscustomtack.com features an abundance of Breyer, traditional-sized horse equipment.  Lately, he has been creating 1/6 scale western horse equipment, primarily for the Johnny West Vintage Marx horses. However, Johnny West buyers are realizing that these "gorgeous" saddles (complete with stamping and silver) are fitting other horse models with minor adjustments.  It is a work in progress.

During the past year Ben's daughter, Barbara, (another lifetime horse lover) has been working side-by-side with her father learning this leather artwork.  Together they form a formidable team and customers have a difficult time telling Barbara's saddles from Ben's!

All of the beautiful model horse tack you see is created in a basement on Cape Cod, in Massachusetts. Ben and Barbara are quite busy with our new surge in sales.
