My interest in British cars started at the age of seventeen when I test-drove my first used Triumph roadster. I still remember going through each gear on a long, straight, newly paved highway. It truly was a magical top-down motoring experience. Of course I ignored the rusty outer rocker panels and bought the car outright for a whopping $450. After that, I went on to restore a number of British cars and motorcycles, established part and book trading partners, attended car meets and became a member of various British car clubs.

My tried-and-true contacts and my appreciation of classic British cars helped me to turn the idea of BestBritBooks into a reality....... I believe my long relationships with first-rate and trusted booksellers enable me to get great books and manuals at very fair prices. 

Besides my involvement with BestBritBooks, I am an avid open-water swimmer -- I have recently resurrected my distance- swimming career by being one of nineteen solo swimmers to circle Pennock Island (8.2 miles) in Alaska (Pennock Island Challenge, 8/10/2008). In 2009, I competed in ocean swim races in Rockland, Maine, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and San Francisco, California. Lastly, on this topic,  I would like to attempt an English Channel swim someday.
