I'm Marla; the owner of Bethlehem Buttons and More. Thank you for taking the time to find out more about us. 

We're a small family run business located in the hills of Judea about 25 miles north of Be'er Sheva. I started the business in 2003 and in March 2005 we started selling HAND CARVED BETHLEHEM PEARL BUTTONS.

A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT PEARL BUTTONS

These types of marvelous hand-carved "PEARLS" were introduced by the Crusaders back in the 12th century to the Christian Community of Bethlehem and passed from father to son for centuries. "PEARLS" of this type were hand-carved using simple primitive hand tools, such as piercing-saws, chisels and files, requiring as many as 1,00 strikes before completion.

This type of "PEARL CARVING" is no longer being carved today even though the tradition has been passed down from Father to Son. As a result Bethlehem Pearl Buttons are becoming harder to find.

We have now started traveling into Bethlehem and plan to do so 3 to 4 times a year. Unfortunately this forces us to increase our prices some but we believe you'll be pleased with the treasures we find.
