A Bit About My Policies In A Platoesque Format

 WHY DO YOU REQUIRE PAYMENT WITHIN THREE DAYS? DOESN'T eBAY GIVE ME SEVEN?

I require payment within three days for two simple reasons:  First:  our home, and hence my working area, is minuscule. If I want to keep acquiring inventory and listing new and fresh items, I must move along my sold items like vagrants outside a Links cotillion.

Second: My finances are, to put it politely, calculated. I need to get paid so I can pay bills and shop for fabulous new items to list next.  The suspense of waiting for a delayed payment is just too much for my fragile nervous system to bear (I like to tell myself this, but actually I have the constitution of an unusually stolid bovine).

Contrary to eBay Urban Myth, eBay does not set the payment time frame, the seller does.

A seller may request payment immediately at auction end, or have no formal time frame at all.  As a bidder/buyer, you agree to abide by the time set in the auction by bidding/buying, and the seller agrees to accept payment and ship you your item as long as you make timely payment.
Some sellers will also badger you relentlessly with payment reminders, but I find this tedious and counterproductive for both of us. You are grown, I am not your mommy.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T /CAN'T PAY ON TIME?

As long as you contact me as soon as you can, I am HAPPY to work with you and hold onto the item, especially if we make arrangements before you bid/purchase.

If I hear NOTHING...at 72 hours and one minute from auction end, I will usually relist the item or offer it to an underbidder on Second Chance Offer and it may no longer be available to you. The unspeakable tedium of the Unpaid Item Process follows in due course.

 

 

WHY DO YOU ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL?

 

PayPal is the only payment method that not only gets to me instantly, but gives the BUYER a degree of protection in case I lose my mind and either ship you an Item Significantly Not As Described ( PayPal's rather Charles Addams-esque phrase) or don't ship at all. I don't plan on snapping anytime soon, but with a toddler and a bun in the oven you NEVER KNOW.

eChecks (payments made from a bank account and NOT backed by a credit or debit card number on file with PayPal) can take anywhere from 4-14 business days to clear. During this time, the money is gone from your account and not in mine...rather it is in some financial ether I visualize as a dimly lit foyer in a Old School New York private bank. 

 Should an eCheck bounce, PayPal will resubmit it and that leads to another 4-14 days of thumb-twiddling. Inconvenient for both of us and maddening to those who have to share my minuscule living space AND deal with my twitching nerves.

SO...should you choose to pay via eCheck, be aware that I will NOT ship your item until the check has cleared, and be prepared for a wait that can seem...eternal.

 

 WHAT ABOUT COMBINED SHIPPING?

If you buy more than one thing, I do my level best to pack them together, weigh them and charge you less.

I do not have a formula or set discount, as the things I sell vary so widely in size and weight.

If Immediate Payment is required on some or all of the items you want, please purchase them and I will refund any postage overage ASAP. I know it's tedious in the extreme, but reckless Spree Bidders have made Immediate Payment a necessity in certain categories and on some items.

Yet another example of how Some Bad Apples Ruin The Fun For Everyone. I am sure YOU are not a bad apple and will not treat you like one!
