the year 2000 we moved into a smaller home and started selling many of our
prized possessions. We're still doing it! (We have lots of things, many
valuable, but as you know... one spends half a life acquiring things and the
second half dispersing them... guess which half we're in?)
We often sell extremely rare books, first-edition books, and other general books. Although books are not the only items we offer, they have been a major part of our auctions because we've been selling a private library for a friend of ours for a while.
We also sell items on consignment for family and friends. (Our problem has never been, What do we sell?)

I wanted to take a minute and let you know that Carrie arrived today, safe and sound. I've already left you appropriate feedback but as you know there isn't enough space in there sometimes to leave all the feedback you might like. So here goes...
First I would like to say that this was probably the best transaction I have ever been involved with. Your advertisement of Carrie was truly a work of art. I have wondered if you were in advertising. If you're not, you might be missing your true calling.. However, as good as your advertisement was, I am happy to say that the actual item exceeded all my expectations!! Did you ever read the book or even open it? For a book that is over thirty years old to be that new is incredible. You really did take good- no I mean fantastic care of it. The cover was stiff when I opened it just like a brand new book. Thank you!
Secondly, I want to compliment you on how professionally you have handled yourself. You don't know how many sellers I have dealt with that have left me feeling somewhat disappointed when the transaction was done. Finding hidden flaws really irritates me. Slow responses to e-mails bugs me. Slow shipping- I mean slooooowwww shipping, bothers me only because when something doesn't arrive in a timely fashion, you start to wonder if maybe it was delivered and then stolen off your porch. I also appreciate the fact you left me feedback before I received the book. At least you were confident enough in how you handled your end to leave me feedback before I left it for you.
Thirdly and finally, I want you to know that Carrie could not have come to a better home. I bought Carrie for my own pleasure as well as an investment. You will not see her on E-bay again in my lifetime. In fact, Carrie is so beautiful, I'm going to charge myself a dollar every time I'm in the same room with her. Just kidding...
We ask you - how many sellers receive such letters? Ever? How many will go a lifetime on eBay without ONE such letter?
Just 3 weeks after that one, another buyer said these words:
I enjoy doing business with you and just for the record, you have the best product description I've seen on eBay.
If I'm looking for a book, I check your listings first, because I know I'm getting a quality item and I'm dealing with an honest person.
