Hi,

      I'm Big Al.  I like to camp and I like to cook. I've liked camping since I was about 4 years old. I started taking an interest in cooking at about 15. That's 52 years ago and 41 years respectfully. 

      Actually, camping and cooking go pretty much hand in hand with one another, since nothing can make you quite so hungry as outdoor activity. You can flat work up an appetite setting up camp, or hiking back to camp from a day at the lake,  or even swimming and floating in the water. The most reverred person in camp is the cook.

      A good cook knows that when you have the right tools to work with, it's not hard to create a masterpiece, even in the wilderness.

      Even in the wilderness, a body likes to be prepared for making sure that things don't get any wilder than they have to.  So you want to bring along more than just the right tools to prepare a feast for the stomach. You need a safe, dry place to put your body after the feast so you can refresh and strengthen for the coming day of exuberance and trial.

      That's what I'm all about, wether I'm cooking competition chili at the world championship in the texas desert, or fixin a big batch of my original authentic Nuevo Leon hot tamales for Christmas, or catchin a mess of sand bass on the Coloredo River in March ice storms, or making a Larry Joe Taylor 4 day music festival right before income tax day, it's either campin or cooking. I like 'em both.
