I started on eBay as a buyer.  My personal collections include vintage cookbooks (especially baking and holidays), vintage children's books, and antique dog photographs.   I am an online bookseller who enjoys selling other vintage goodies as well.   My book experience includes teaching, independent bookstore management, and a lifetime of reading and collecting books!

I try to give my buyers the personal service that I value when I'm buying myself:

• personal emails
• careful packing
• detailed and honest descriptions
• photos of the item you are bidding on (I don't like Stock Photos as a buyer, and am guessing that you want to see the actual item you are bidding on too!)
• reasonable shipping and handling fees
• a confirmation note as I mail your package on my weekly trip to the Post Office

Buyers sometimes ask if items come from a SMOKE-FREE and PET-FREE home.  My home is smoke-free, but I shop at estate sales, flea markets, and other treasure hunting spots that may not be smoke-free, and I cannot guarantee that my items have always been only in smoke-free hands.  And my home is definitely (thankfully) not pet-free!  You will find all types of critters here - from dogs to dustbunnies.  :-) 

People ask about the name Birdhouse-in-Your-Soul.  It's a song by They Might Be Giants, and I liked the sound of it as an eBay name - upbeat, positive, and fun. 

Buyers also ask where all the neat stuff comes from.  A lot of it is from my own household -- I'm in the process of organizing -- and I am always trying to make more bookshelf room here!  I also have a backlog of great books, music, and ephemera that I've purchased at local library and yard sales - just to share on eBay.
