Meet Our Family!
These little creatures are the reasons we started selling parrot products. They are our "children" and we love them dearly. They have taught us what it means to be a responsible parrot parent and that is why we want to give all of the other parrot parents out there the knowledge, advice and tools they need to provide for their parrots properly.
Stormy - Stormy is our 9-year-old Timneh African Grey. We got him when he was four years old, after he had been neglected and abused. The poor guy didn't trust a soul for the longest time and he nervously plucked at his feathers. Now he's as happy and healthy as can be (never a feather out of place). Sure, he's your typical Grey and has his quirks, but we love him for it.
Milo - Milo is our Congo African Grey. We got him from a rescue organization and we're not exactly sure how old he is. He's truly a gentle soul and would never hurt anyone. He loves giving kisses and is content to sit on your shoulder and watch television.
Cupid - Cupid is our six-year-old Sun Conure. He is an absolute nut job. He loves to hang upside down and squak at you until you let him come out to play. He knows when it's feeding time and if you're even five minutes late, he lets you know about it.
Squirt - Squirt is our Hahn's Macaw. Everything good you've ever heard about this species is true if Squirt is any example. He's sweet, amusing and has a wonderful personality.
Shadow - Shadow is our senior citizen cockatiel. He's about 13 years old. He knows what he wants, how he wants it and he's not willing to negotiate. Shadow will not let you carry him around on your finger, but he's happy to perch on your head.
Dana - Dana is our little girl's 2-year-old budgie. She's a sweet little girl and perches on your finger as if there were no where else she'd rather be. She's absolutely adorable.
Betty Sue - Betty Sue is a Blue and Gold Macaw. Unfortunately, many people think Betty Sue is worthless because she has a crooked beak. We think it just adds to her character and personality and we wouldn't trade Betty Sue for a million bucks. Betty Sue's beak doesn't bother her at all. She is taken to the avian vet every four months for a trim and her condition does not affect her quality of life or her health.
Dave - Dave is an Umbrella Cockatoo. He was once owned by a couple who really did love him, but just didn't have the time to give Dave the attention and structure he needs. As a result, Dave has a few behavioral issues, but we are working on correcting them and he's soon to be the best-mannered Cockatoo around.
Rags - Rags is the newest member of the Birdie Bazaar family. Rags is an M2 who deserves lavish attention, the best diet money can buy and tons of toys. While we're not sure of Rags' exact age, we do know he is at least 30 years old. The poor guy has been through a lot and while he is a bit timid right now, he's sure to warm up once he knows how much he is loved. Like Milo, Rags was adopted from Fine Feathered Friends Sanctuary in Edgerton, Wisconsin. What wonderful people they are
