EVERYTANG IS WONDERFUL
WELCOME TO JIM'S BRACE & BIT WORLD
For over four decades I have collected braces and the tools that fit in them. I published a book on the subject in 1992 and more recently I've authored a book on English bitstock tools on compact disc as well as several compact discs on U.S. Patent drawings for braces and the tools that are used in them in rotary motion. I'm a Life Member of M-WTCA and served two terms as president of that fine tool collecting organization.
EVOLUTION OF THE AMERICAN HOLLOW AUGER IS MY MAIN AREA OF INTEREST
I have collected hundreds of American hollow augers, the tools that were used to put round tenons on the end of wagon spokes. A book on this subject is well on its way. My interest in hollow augers dates back to when I was an undergraduate at the University of Missouri and continued throughout my academic career at the University of Michigan where I received my doctorate in anthropology in 1973.
